Happy Earth Day!
Yesterday afternoon went to a shopping mall and found there are doing an Earth Day Carnival. There are a lot of booth that are selling products that is totally earth- friendly and recyclable.
And this is what they say:
Earth day is a day to remind and inspire people to aware for our Earth's natural environment. It was founded by United States Senator Gaylord Nelson. In 1970, 22nd April was the first- held of Earth Day. Now Earth Day is celebrating by more than 175 countries every year. Some countries celebrate Earth Week to gain more awareness for protect on the environmental of the earth.
We always care about global warming, carbon footprint, love our forest or wildlife habitat, but we never realized that our eating habits are a major contributor to these problems. The chicken, beef, lamb, fish, rice and so on that we eat everyday is actually killing the earth natural environment.
To protect our planet, every bite counts!
After that, they also had a kids tour. I heard they taught the kids say no to plastic bag, plastic bottle and so on. The kids were then repeating " Say no to plastic bag... say no to plastic bottle..."
Then, the kids sang birthday song to Earth.
"Happy birthday to earth, happy birthday to earth..."
The environment was amused.
Happy Earth Day!
